woah man, i know ive been slacking writing my blogs. where has the time gone to??

first things first, im missing my daughter like CRAZY!! she went to spend the summer with her grandma and grandpa in another state. its so quiet and lonely here. even with a screaming baby its still quiet compared! man soon she isnt going to need me at all. gosh, 1st grade next year, wasnt she just in diapers? no?

aniya is 6 months now [tear] she can say mama, baba, nana, blah and she can officially sit up unassisted now! yay yaya!! my little peanut loves to get up at the crack of dawn so im looking forward to my hubby coming home so i can sleep in! thank the good lord he is a morning person.

not looking forward to packing up and moving though. major downer going from warm and sunny to cold and snowy. YUCK!

well i suppose im off to bed. dreaming of sewing a complete nursery crib bedding set

fluffyyyyyyyy

i am so proud of myself for sticking with something for an extended amount of time, for one. its crazy how many plans you have before your child arrives [ie natural childbirth, breastfeed, cloth diaper, attachment parenting, elimination communication] and yet get discouraged after something doesnt go according to plan. i am the first to admit that i only breastfed for a week because i believed my husband really wanted to help feed the baby. needless to say i am still disappointed 5 months later. so when she was about to turn 5 months i decided it was time to make the change. we were going to cloth diaper! as i did my research and asked a ton of questions on my parenting forum i had my mind set!! i slowly started my stash and i am sooo happy that i kept it up! [even though everyone thought i was crazy for wanting to, and my mother who cd me saying it was hard] i think its so easy and coming to the conclusion they are crazy, not to mention wasteful ;) just imagine how many babies are born every year and times that by the 6000 diapers they each use.... yeah, mind blowing huh?
so thus starts my journey :) i love me some rocking green, so i rocked a soak yesterday cause i just got some pre loved cloth.

[when we first started rockin' a soak, overnight results, and washing my fluff]

fresh fluff!!! [just got 2 more pockets not pictured]

i didnt think it would be so hard

so aniyas first official word is baba. words can not explain how extatic i was to here her speak her first word to her sissy! i just about gave the two of them a heart attck when i came running and squealing "awwwww say it again!" and dont even get me started on getting that on camera... ugh.

after much effort and resorting to being sneaky... i got something.

why does it always seem like they learn something new all at one time? where is the rewind button so i can go back 5 1/2 months ago to when she was my brand spankin new chunky monkey? now she is jabberng, almost fully unassisted sitting and munchin on her frozen nanners... the time sure has flown. as i sit here lulling her and she starts to doze, im amazed at what i have created, growing this child in me and not being able to see or hear it until they are in your arms, yet you love them more than life itself. its an incredible feeling to birth a child and watch her take her first breath. all the stars that have lined up to compose such a moment as this. im simply mind boggled.

when did jade learn how to pick out her own clothes [that actually match, might i add] and fix herself a pb&j? good bob its depressing to think that they are getting more independent.

all because of one word. baba

lovey lucy

well, at least thats what i call her. i knew she was a lucy the moment i put her cute little sleepy eyelids on. anywho. so apparently i cant get enough of tutuorial and must try everything! ha, i get ahead of myself and currently have a list that could possibly make it to  china  charlotte, nc.
so as i was going through one of my favorite tutorial blogs, the rubber punkin, i seen this cute little thing and couldnt pass it up.

The Rubber Punkin

you can find the tut  HERE

i did however stray a little on the instructions in creating lovey lucy; one, i dont have a printer so i couldnt print the template [i freehanded it and it turned out pretty awsome, so boo-yaa] two, i added some crinkle in the tum tum [crinkle i.e. popcorn wrapper tehe] three, i arranged the ribbon loops to bloom [easier for little grabby fingers] four, i cut a diamond for the beak and sewn one end down so it looks like her beak is open. lucy turned out a little shorter but none the less cute!

all in all this was a nice little project for my little doll, she loved the bright colors and how it crinkled. it was also easy for her to grab due to the taggys and the light stuffing. easy peasey mac and cheesey!
